HOW TO MAKE DONUTS

I’ve always had a special love for donuts. To be truthful anything that involves fried dough will hold a dear place in my heart forever. But donuts in particular are awesome, not only because of the fluffy texture, but also because they serve as a delivery system for whatever topping you choose. I’m a purist: I stick with the chocolate frosting (and no sprinkles please).

BANANA RAISIN BREAD

“Necessity is the mother of invention”. This proverb can’t be more true in the kitchen. Today’s recipe was born out of the urge to use a few ingredients I had hanging around: a few ripe bananas, some raisins, a little bit of oatmeal… the rest is history.

This quick bread is super versatile: it’s perfect to eat for breakfast, with a cup of tea, but rich enough to serve for dessert.

CITRUS PINEAPPLE UPSIDE DOWN CAKE

This cake is super easy to make. I call it “the pantry cake”, because you can bake this beauty with simple ingredients you regularly keep in your pantry. It’s sweet, but not overwhelmingly so… and its flavor is so familiar, like something you’ve tasted many times before but you’ll never get tired of eating again. It’s that good.
