HOW TO MAKE DOMINICAN CAKE

This one is huge. You don’t understand: making a dominican cake is to me like a graduation diploma. This process of finding a recipe that suited me, has been a fantastic ~~pain in the butt~~ learning experience.

So finally, after 4 tests, 3 dozen eggs, 16 sticks of butter and 5 pounds of flour, I humbly present you my recipe. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

BANANA RAISIN BREAD

“Necessity is the mother of invention”. This proverb can’t be more true in the kitchen. Today’s recipe was born out of the urge to use a few ingredients I had hanging around: a few ripe bananas, some raisins, a little bit of oatmeal… the rest is history.

This quick bread is super versatile: it’s perfect to eat for breakfast, with a cup of tea, but rich enough to serve for dessert.

TRES LECHES CAKE

Today is a happy day for me: this lil’ blog of mine turns two today! It’s amazing when I look back and I see how things have evolved little by little (because trust me, things have changed since my first post.
